Central Illinois Horse Rescue

Established in 2003 and saving lives ever since. S.H.A.R.E. is a non-for profit organization that takes in unwanted, abused and neglected horses. The horses undergo rehabilitation, training and medical treatment and are then put up for adoption. Not only does S.H.A.R.E. take in horses that are unwanted by their owners but it also takes in horses from abuse and neglect cases. We have several humane investigators that work with us to make sure that the horses in the area are being treated humanely. Once we receive a horse from a situation like that, rehabilitation is the first priority. The horses must be brought to a healthy weight and must learn to trust humans. This takes much time and effort on the founder and volunteers of S.H.A.R.E. but the reward is worth the work. If you are looking to volunteer in the community and make a difference, S.H.A.R.E. is always looking for hard working volunteers to help us feed and take care of the horses. Feeding is a big job and the more volunteers the merrier. We also need help grooming and socializing our horses once the feeding is done. Volunteering with our horses is a very rewarding experience and you could be part of it.
