Help to rescue horses.
Equine Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Sanctuary. Dove Creek Equine Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, dedicated to the rescue, assistance, and rehabilitation of horses that have been neglected, abused, or abandoned. Our goal is to eventually place horses in homes that are fitting to both horses and owners. We work with the local Humane Society, Law Enforcement officers, and another local equine rescue on abuse and neglect cases where horses are in need of care, love, and rehabilitating. We also take in horses from individuals who can no longer properly care for their horses. We have no breed, age, gender, etc. limit of horses needing a new, fresh start. Founded by Laurie Higgins in 1996, the Rescue is nestled in the beautiful Tierra Blanca Canyon, just south of Amarillo, Texas and 20 miles west of the second largest canyon in America, Palo Duro Canyon. We have 2 indoor riding arenas, with wash stalls, and 1500 acres of canyons and high plains to ride and explore. Please visit our website for more information and access to our Adoption Application Forms.
