Since 2008, Epona Farm has provided sanctuary to horses and humans in need.. Since 1999, Epona Farm has provided sanctuary, a safe and structured environment for wildlife, companion animals, humans, and since 2008, for horses as well. The Farm is a peaceful place created to provide refuge from the daily stresses that affect our lives. All of the horses here have come to us because of a special need. None are "perfect", which makes them absolutely priceless. Many have been rescued from abuse, others come here to recover from serious illness, or are in need of rehabilitation. Others retire here, after a lifetime of service they are given peace and safety that is so hard to find. Most are a senior horses, who are so often neglected or sent to slaughter. We consider ourselves to be the last home for these gentle souls with tired bodies, a place to receive healing and care, and to be free to lay down and rest, free to run and play, free from fear and hunger or thirst. When, and if, they are ready, they join our human herd as facilitators of kindness, empathy, learning, healing and caring for children and adults of all abilities and all needs.
