Last Stop Horse Rescue

Licensed - State of Maine Animal Welfare, 501c3 nonprofit organization. Last Stop Horse Rescue is an organization dedicated to making a better life for horses that have been abused, abandoned, neglected, or starved. We are a licensed horse rescue for the state of Maine, located on a twenty acre farm in Prentiss, Me. We assist local law enforcement, animal control, and animal welfare agents by helping in their efforts to rescue horses in need. To provide food, shelter, medical care, and compassion to horses in our care. Rehabilitation of these horses will be set up for success by following Parelli Natural Horsemanship. The principles of love, language, and leadership in equal doses will be followed. There will be no force or intimidation, and we will rely on gentleness in our leadership. There are seven important things we want the horse to have when they are in our care, or in their adoptive home: nourishment, love, trust in humans, confidence, curiosity, sensitivity, but most of all their dignity.
