Powhatan Equine Rescue League

Reflecting the love of Christ through equine rescue. Powhatan Equine Rescue League is a 501 (c ) 3 non profit located in Central Virginia. We work with area owners, vets and animal controls to rescue and rehabilitate horses in need. Our goal is to work with animal control divisions and vets to educate owners on proper care and nutrition. In this we hope to slow down seizures of horses in need. Horses in our care receive proper care, nutrition, and ground work training until they are ready to be adopted into their forever homes. All of our rescues have been and will be microchipped prior to adoption into their new home. In doing this we hope to keep them out of the auction circuit in the future.
