Thoroughbred Rescue. Race Horse Reclaim Thoroughbred Rescue was founded by Deborah Adams with the support of her husband, famed naturopathic doctor, Wayne Garland. "Deb" is a Grand Prix dressage rider who enjoyed a thirty-five year international riding career training, competing, and teaching classical dressage. In the early years of developing dressage in the United States warmblood horses, now considered so desirable in the sport, were not readily available to Americans. Thoroughbred horses, mostly former racehorses, were the mounts of this country's top riders including Deb. "David", her first dressage horse was a reject from the track in Charleston West Virginia. Together they became national champions and members of the United Equestrian Team. After many years spent in the riding arenas and best schools in the U.S. and Germany, Deb contends that the American Thoroughbred is the most elegant and athletic horse in the world. Her love for the breed has grown beyond the pursuits of the show world into a much needed service to the horse: providing a sanctuary for those Thoroughbreds who may not have a future once their racing days are over.
