Non profit horse rescue & sanctuary. SHI rescues horses from slaughter, abuse & neglect. Where possible horses are rehabilitated and re homed with an adoption contract. Those deemed un adoptable are retired to our sanctuary. Sanctuary horses give back by participating in our Equine Assited Therapy Program. PHD therapists use equines in counseling individuals with various social & emotional disorders, PTSD and drug and alcohol addiction. By way of a grant we are able to offer counseling scholarships to young women rescued from the Human Trafficking Industry. We also offer a therapeutic riding program for children with Autism.
