Big or Small ? We Save Them All !. Stoney Brook Farm Animal Rescue (501 (c) 3) is located on 25 acres in Harwinton, CT. We are a small animal rescue with an entirely volunteer staff. We are supported exclusively by donations and our own resources. Our Mission is to rescue horses and other farm animals while opening our farm to people, young and old, including children with developmental disabilities, so that they can experience the magic of interacting with animals. We rescue Equines ? we accept horses that cannot be cared for by their owners, many with health issues. With the help of donations from across the country, we ?bail-out? horses from kill pens that would otherwise be slaughtered. We focus on rescuing pregnant mares and mares with foals at their side - all slaughter-bound. We rescue Farm Animals ? we accept small animals such as goats, sheep, ducks and geese. They add to our farm and visitors love feeding and interacting with them. We work to identify and place these animals into forever homes whenever possible. We rescue People ? we believe that working with animals can change people for the better! SBF works with State and Local School Systems to provide an environment where children, including those with with developmental disabilities, can learn about the humane care and treatment of animals. SBF also provides Volunteer experience for teens and adults of all ages who have a selfless interest in the animals.
