Treadway Equine Animal Reascue Sanctuary AKA TEARS

Rescue sanctuary of equine and other farm animals. TEARS is a rescue/sanctuary that is here for the health, welfare and safety of equine and other farm animals in need. We are Hawkins County Tennessee's only 501c3 non profit large animal rescue. We work with the Hawkins County Sheriff Department, Humane Society and our community, to save horses and farm animals in need. We specialize in equine. We have many years of equine ownership, education and experience. We see our animals all the way through to adoption. When adopting a TEARS animal it is a forever home. No animal can be sold, traded or given away and no mare can be bred. You have to meet us, ride the horse or meet it if it isn't trained to ride, and we have to see the connection. You have to sign an adoption contract. We keep check ups on all horses adopted. We do not adopt out stallions, as all males are gelded. We put hours of care, feed, farrier, and veterinary services in to these animals and are very particular as to who we adopt to. We use only humane and gentle handling. A lot of love goes in to these animals. We as a sanctuary take horses no other rescues will take. These are horses with issues that make them unable to be adopted. The adoptable horses are usually horses that have been abused, neglected or suffered starvation. We take out time in making them healthy, meeting their needs, and giving lots of love, so that they may find their forever home. Rescue horses make awesome, loving horses who appreciate their home.
