Wind Haven Horse Rescue

Wind Haven Horse Rescue offers horses a way to restore trust. Horses arrive at Wind Haven Horse Rescue for a variety of reasons, but all are in need of a safe, structured, loving environment. Whether they come from the auction house, an owner who has run out of alternatives, or rescued from a dire situation, Wind Haven Horse Rescue is here to help. In the beautiful Toutle Valley near Mount Saint Helens, situated on Wind Haven Farm, a forty-five acre horse facility and home shared with an abundance of wildlife, resides Wind Haven Horse Rescue. When the tired horses arrive at Wind Haven Horse Rescue they are welcomed onto 18 acres of cross fenced pasture that houses a 48' x 72' barn with six 12' x 12' stalls adjoined to 12' x 24' paddocks that open up to pasture access. On the other side of the barn we have three 12' x 12' stalls used for quarantine. These stalls offer the best of ventilation and are within easy visual of staff and volunteers. The outdoor arena is 100' x 160' with sand and hog fuel footing. Adjacent to the arena is a 60' round pen. The horses will utilize all these areas within stages of their physical recovery and retraining. Wind Haven Horse Rescue is a brand new facility and we are still in the process of adding new features to help us keep the horses comfortable. Wind Haven was named for good reason, it gets very windy here and cold in the winter, therefore, in the near future we will be covering the arena so even in the coldest months we can give the horses adequate and consistent training which is important to all horses. This will help ensure the horse?s placement in a new adoptive home. We are also in the process of building run-in-sheds in the entire cross fenced pastures to offer shelter from the weather.
