Windhorse Sanctuary

Equine Rescue. We are not a rescue organization, but a sanctuary which provides a life-long, loving home for the special animals that come here. Many come from rescue organizations and are considered to be unadoptable due to their medical, behavioral and aging issues. Our goal is to provide a safe, stable and natural environment for all the animals. The horses enjoy green pastures and the shelter of a barn in bad weather, the dogs run and play and swim in the pond and the cats enjoy their indoor/outdoor habitat, complete with jungle gym. All receive nutritious food and top quality medical care. Windhorse is currently caring for 44 horses, ponies, miniature horses, and donkeys, 33 dogs, and 10 cats. Windhorse was founded by Dave Ferguson and Bobbie Burnes. Current employees include Dave and Bobbie who run the farm, Jon and Trish who work with the horses, and Kristin and Tiffany who work with the dogs.
